Capybara Onsen How to Expand Your Onsen
Grow the bath after the roster needs room, not before the first merge.
Expanding the Onsen is the visible win in Capybara Onsen. Steam, wood, and extra pads make the place look finished. It is also the easiest way to go broke. Dojo Empire says you discover new Capybaras and expand the Onsen. The order in that sentence matters. Discover first. Expand second.
This page is about timing. For the units that fill the new space, use the Capybara hub. For the money that pays for the space, use Yuzu deposits.
What expansion is for
You expand when a Capybara has nowhere honest to stand. A Lucky Box drop, a merge into a larger tier, or a shop refill can create that problem. You do not expand because the neighboring plot on the server looks bigger. Their Onsen is not your income.
Space should shorten your walk to the deposit, not lengthen it. If a new wing hides Yuzu piles, you have built a maze. Walk the path after every purchase.
When to expand
Expand after one of these:
- A merge created a unit that does not fit the current pads.
- A Lucky Box added a Capybara you cannot place.
- You have a Money buffer and no ready merge.
Do not expand because the shop also sells a decoration bundle. Decorations do not drop Yuzu. The official loop never mentions furniture as income.
When to wait
Wait if you have not completed the first merge. Wait if Yuzu is still on the floor. Wait if a shutdown just ended and prices might be shifting. Wait if expanding would spend the Money that completes a pair in the shop.
The early-game ranks put expansion below deposit and merge. The merge planner includes an expand tick only at the end of the list.
How expansion interacts with idle time
A larger Onsen can hide Lucky Boxes. After you grow the bath, add a walk to your return routine: deposit, walk the new wing, open boxes, then shop. The Lucky Box guide assumes you can see the floor.
If you play on a phone, a bigger map also means more camera work. Read controls before you buy a wing you cannot scan.
After you expand
Place the waiting Capybara. Confirm it drops Yuzu. Deposit once so you know the new path works. Then leave a Money buffer. An Onsen that is all space and no buffer cannot absorb the next shop price.
Like and favorite the experience if the new wing came from a patch. Dojo Empire asks for those clicks when they ship updates. Shutdowns are how those wings arrive. Check latest notes so you know whether the expansion you bought is the old layout or the new one.

If you expanded and now miss piles, shrink your camera path, not your roster. Walk a figure-eight from deposit to the new wing and back. That walk is the tax you agreed to when you bought space. Pay it every return, or sell the idea of the wing and play in the old rectangle.
The Onsen is a stage for Capybaras. Build the stage the size of the cast, not the size of your envy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
When should I expand the Onsen in Capybara Onsen?
After a merge or Lucky Box creates a Capybara you cannot place, and only if Yuzu is already deposited.
Does expanding the Onsen increase Yuzu by itself?
No. Space holds Capybaras. Capybaras drop Yuzu. An empty wing is a sunk cost.
Should I expand before my first merge?
No. Complete a deposit and a merge first so the new pads have a reason to exist.
